Learning Outcomes (valid 01.08.2018-31.07.2020):
The aim of the MSc thesis seminars is to provide the students with the knowledge and skills necessary for writing a high-quality Master’s Thesis. The seminars assist the student in structuring his/her thesis work, and provide a supportive forum to discuss issues relevant to different stages of research.
Content (valid 01.08.2018-31.07.2020):
The Thesis Seminar consists of compulsory introductory sessions, individual learning assignments specified in the MyCourses learning environment of the seminar, one-on-one meetings with a personal thesis advisor, and progress seminars in which students present their work and give feedback to others. Attendance is mandatory.
Assessment Methods and Criteria (valid 01.08.2018-31.07.2020):
Attendance in seminars and individual supervision meetings
Written reports: preliminary research plan (20%), written learning assignments, progress report 1 (40%), progress report 2 (40%)
Presentation of the thesis project in progress seminars
Written and oral commentary on fellow students’ reports
Workload (valid 01.08.2018-31.07.2020):
Seminars, individual supervision sessions and independent study 160 h.
