After taking the course, the student will be able to

  • know and identify the most important physical and chemical properties of various biomass and biofuels related to combustion and energy conversion
  • recognize and understand various combustion and other energy conversion technologies needed for the use of bioenergy in power generation and transport
  • calculate and evaluate the most important combustion technology parameters in boilers and engine combustion

Transport biofuels, biomass in power plants. Physical and chemical properties of biomass and biofuels. Biomass and biofuel combustion technologies. Basics of fuel cells.
