CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

    Students work in small groups in collaboration with a client on a visual identity design project.

    - Project-based learning
    - Briefing and debriefing
    - Tools and methods for managing a design project
    - Methods for conducting background research and testing design with users and audiences
    - Introduction to design thinking and the Double Diamond process
    - Design and development of a visual identity concept 
    - Presenting and communicating to different stakeholders

  • Applies in this implementation:

    We will be working on a visual identity design project from a real client (Iittala) and practice using and following a structured design process to guide and manage the design work. Student will work in pairs.


Assessment Methods and Criteria
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

    Assignments, presentation, and activity during the course. The successful completion of this course requires at least 80% attendance. Course feedback is required for completion.

  • Applies in this implementation:

    Works are evaluated and students will receive feedback during interim critique and final critique. Teachers evaluate the idea, concept and execution which are communicated by means of a professional presentation. Active participation is part of the students grade.

    The representatives of the client will provide separate feedback to students as well.
