Learning Outcomes (valid 01.08.2018-31.07.2020): 

The purpose of this course is to provide students with an overview of strategic retail marketing. After completion of the course, the student has an understanding of the key areas of retail marketing and management with a special emphasis on strategic analysis and planning.

Content (valid 01.08.2018-31.07.2020): 

Students will independently read literature, write essays, conduct independent project work (a strategic retail marketing plan), and do the exam. Through the course readings and assignments, the course covers the most important areas of strategic retail marketing. The course will have a kick-off seminar that provides guidelines to complete the course.

Assessment Methods and Criteria (valid 01.08.2018-31.07.2020): 

  1. Individual essays (20% of course grade)
  2. Independent project work (40 % of course grade)
  3. Exam (40% of course grade).

Opintojakso on tarkoitettu vain suomea osaamattomille kauppakorkeakoulun maisteriopiskelijoille, joille on myönnetty vapautus tutkinnon suomen kielen vaatimuksista. This course is offered only for non-Finnish speaking Aalto School of Business MSc-students.

The number of students admitted to the course is restricted to 25. Priority is given to (1) Aalto students studying in MSc Program of Marketing, (2) Aalto students studying in MSc Minor in Strategic Marketing.

NOTE: Students are required to write own group of priority to further information field of course registration!
