The student learns the basics of using a software game engine to create interactive and playful environments. The student learns about the themes, ideas, narration, and dramaturgy of digital games.

This course introduces the game engine Unity as a tool for the creating interactive virtual worlds to use in the context of art.

80% participation in lectures and completion of independent work. Attending the first lessons is required

        • on tuesday 9-17: introduction, idea generation and familiarisation with the concepts of the assignment
        • on wednesday 9-17: modelling, texturing and animating in unity, using ProBuilder and ProGrids
        • on thursday 9-15: lights, sound, triggering animations, programming logic with uscript, cameras in unity
        • on friday 9-17: working on the assignment, recaps of the different tools and methods

        • on tuesday 9-17: playing VR-games, assignment work continues
        • on wednesday 9-17: playing VR-games, assignment work continues
