After completing the course the participant is able to:
- describe symmetries in scientific and engineering problems using groups and their representations.
- analyze discrete symmetries with character theory
- analyze continuous symmetries with highest weight representations of Lie groups and Lie algebras

Representations of finite groups, character theory.
Lie groups and their Lie algebras.
Representations of semisimple Lie algebras.
