Main learning outcomes are: integration of new learning with previous knowledge, interests and extra curriculum activities; and development of personal competence profile. By doing the personal project, the student creates a contact network within the school, university and externally that supports her development as a design professional. Independent and integrative project challenges the student to take responsibility of her learning and to manage long-term personal competence development. She gets prepared for starting her master’s thesis on a personally motivating, socially and professionally relevant topic.

Content (valid 01.08.2018-31.07.2020):

The student develops a personal study project based on her own interests in the field of interior architecture and completes it during the first year of MA studies. The project can be a reflection on the theoretical and conceptual challenges of design, research conducted together with the research teams of the department or externally, a design project or artistic project, or a more open-ended exploration into a particular area, question or problem. The work is documented in a reflective project report that should include the project plan, documentation of the process, final results and evaluation of what was learned. Each project is assigned a tutor from the teaching staff. The course begins and ends with a joint conference in period I (September) where the previous year's results are presented to students who are starting the course.

Assessment Methods and Criteria (valid 01.08.2018-31.07.2020):
