CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

    This course is intended to serve as an open platform to discuss, design and develop ideas and theories around students' new media, games and sound projects.

    Do you have a work-in-progress project that you want to develop further? Would you like to spend a week on learning a new skill in a peer learning environment? Would you like to be part of the Media Lab Demo Day production team? All of the above are good reasons to join the Open Workshop.

  • Applies in this implementation:

    Two ways to take part in this course:

    1. ON-CAMPUS:
      You are in one of Matti's courses (Electronics for Artists,
      Introduction to Workshops and Studio Facilities) and you need access to
      the school workshops and hands-on tutoring.
    2. ONLINE:
      You want to join in to create the Demo Day event or the after party. We
      are looking for people to help us produce the virtual event for Demo
      Day on December 16th.

    Demo Day Team

    The Demo Day team will be working remotely to produce and prepare the event during the workshop week.



Assessment Methods and Criteria
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

    Working methods:

    • Group discussions each morning.
    • Independent/tutored work.
    • Final progress report in class on the last day.
    • Presentation or demonstration at the Media Lab Demo Day

    Details on the assessment methods will be published in the course syllabus.

Workload
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

    One-week workshop. Mandatory meetings in the morning of each day.

    Actual workload depends on student's project. 35 h tutoring / support / teaching.
