    In general, these credits are targeted for MA students and reserved for study projects organized as part of research projects and initiatives in the Department. They can be used to give credits for independent research work done by students. They might also be used to validate written research assignments carried on by the students in lieu of other research credits.

    To engage in independent research studies requires that the student’s work is carried under the supervision of a member of the faculty in the department. A program of studies and objectives must be agreed in advance with the faculty person. Agreement about the work must be obtained from the head of research.
