CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

The course introduces students to philosophical and theoretical literature in which the paradigms of knowledge production, the questions of presenting, performing and expressing artistic research knowledge are discussed critically. Particularly in art-practice-led and artistic research, in which the organic relation to the knowledge of practice and its relation to theoretical thinking forms the bases of the research, the voice of the text, the different modes of writing and also the ways the structure of, for example, a dissertation is formulated, are necessary elements in order to communicate and illuminate the the positioning of the maker, which is an essential component in practice-led and artistic research. During this course the participants, primarily students with research projects including artistic work, are encouraged to work on writing exercises to elaborate upon the questions of voice, materiality, subjectivity as well as experiment with writing genres such as literary essay writing, fragmentary writing, embodied writing and other forms, in order to evaluate the proper approach for their own research writing practice.
