LEARNING OUTCOMES

- Students will be able to recognize the impact of research and theory on current debates about film practice.

- Students will be able to sketch potential research questions that stem from their film practice and artistic vision.

- Students will be able to draft a MA thesis proposal plan that will aid them in the written part of their MA thesis.

CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content

    The course will focus on helping students to gain an understanding of different approaches to and methodologies of practice-led research and research through artistic practices. The course will present diversecritical perspectives related to the film medium that will aid students to contextualize their film work within the field of artistic research and theory. The course will also prepare students for the written part of the MA thesis.

Assessment Methods and Criteria

    Students will have to attend the lectures and complete the assignments in order to gain credits for this course.

Workload

  • valid for whole curriculum period:

    Lectures, film screenings, independent study and discussions.

    Lectures (1:1 ratio) = 55 hours (máx)

    Independent study (1:2) = 53 hours (máx)

    Total: 108 hours.
