LEARNING OUTCOMES

Students will learn to explain basic principles of casting, forging and injection molding technologies. They will also learn to use the relations between design and manufacturing processes of casting, forging and injection molding, materials, design principles, simulation techniques and how the process parts interact to determine the properties of what is required to create high quality components.

    Principles of casting, forging and injection molding technology, relations between design and manufacturing processes, materials, design principles, simulation, quality and purchasing.

Assessment Methods and Criteria

    Students write an essay on the topics covered on the lectures and literature (50 %) and design/laboratory assignments (50 %). No exam.
