ADVICE ON THE COURSE FROM 2016 STUDENTS TO 2017 STUDENTS
Own the course assignement and make it something you're genuinly interested in. That way it will support your studies and you may have a satisfying outcome, even if it's "just" an introduction course.
stay CHILL and use this opportunity to meet new people in different departments!
Have fun with the project!
Practice the elevator pitch a lot
I would always recommend it.
Be crazy and don't over think. Don't shit down idea and share your thoughts. Be open minded, and get to know to your group.
Think out of box for the assignment, it doesn't have to be feasible or realistic.
Take the chance to do whatever you want
Remember to have fun with the project!
try to see it as a way to explore what you think is interesting and you have never done yet, try to avoid the obvious
To relax and enjoy it because some people were stressing them out and forgot to have fun with the project, which is also part of a good result.
Heh, well, think bigger?
Be prepared for lots of input. :) And to go crazy on your ideas! Be wild and free.
It wasn't very clear that we were supposed to register for the Personal Project and it is a separate course.
Have fun with the assignments while also putting in great effort
Make the assignment more open
don't be afraid to speak up!
Don't be serious.
Have fun be creative and openminded to get to know everyone
Make sure you are pro-active within your project team, especially when you have a relatively large group to work in. By doing so, you are able to put forward your own ideas and thoughts and 'test' them within the group.
Remember to have fun with your project.
Get to know as much people as you can in the course and do not plan anything during the first weeks so you can use that time to share with the new students.
Get to know many people and mainly just enjoy the lectures and have a good time.
Just go with it! And use the opportunity to get to know other students (from different disciplines).
Just be there!
Try to not take the group work too seriously, have fun with it, the outcome doesn't have to be a solution to all problems in the world.
Be open, brave and do not worry, but take this seriously enough; it shows that you have respect for the others and the teachers, and put some value on their time also.
Have fun and try to get to know everyone.
chill, but forget the design week, course will take all your time
Try to get inspired also of other fields than just your own major. Ask & discuss, that is where the actual learning happens, in stead of when sitting still in the chair during the lectures.
Just keep an open mind!
communicate more with team memberts if there is anybody doesn,t show up in group discussion, you should tell professors asap
you can't really do it wrong - choose a topic you like/ are passionate about (passionate is maybe a big word though)
The course shouldn't overlap with Helsinki Design Week! We could barely attend most of the events because of the assignments and group work.
chill, design week is important
Accept also the old meaning of Design, which is creating item or space. (I am in exchange in Aalto, from an architecture school, so I do not have the same background)
if every group number can be less maybe it would be better for everyone participanting
Be active and have fun.
To enjoy it because I think that that's the key for a good outcome.
Be more open to ideas.
Dont take the assignment too seriously! Its only couple of weeks project! Focus on social aspect of Intro!
should use the time well and discuss with members more
Be super social, try to sit next to a different person each day and start a conversation!
To continue doing all the short games to integrate the people from the different programs. In my case really worked and now have my own little group of friends! :)
Don't stress about the assignment too much. Delegate.
dont stress just go with it!
I will end up making great results and having fun. :)
have more time to know each other
Come open minded and be there when at the first contact day. Enjoy meeting new people.
To explore and be bold with ideas. Ideas don't need to be realistic or present, but let your mind fly.
go big, experiment and enjoy
