Welcome to the Computational Science course of autumn 2016. Lectures will be held on Wednesdays 16.15 - 17.45 in the lecture hall T5 (T building).
The Computational Science course covers the principles of fundamental numerical methods and foundations of the Monte Carlo simulation method. The reference book is W. Cheney, D. Kincaid: Numerical Mathematics and Computing (Thomson Brooks/Cole). The Lecture Notes that are uploaded on these pages under Materials/Lectures will suffice for taking this course and cover some material that is not included in the reference book.
Exercise material is uploaded in the Exercises section. There will be ten rounds of exercises and the problems will be uploaded by the time the corresponding lecture is held. There will be exercises on each week so check the Exercises section regularly for new problems. The section also contains instructions on the practicalities and how to return your solutions. Note that the deadline for the reports of the first round of exercises is on 20th of September.
