In the fall 2016, Seminar on Applied Mathematics will concentrate on the theme "Eigenvalue Problems for PDEs". Eigenvalues have practical importance in, e.g., vibration analysis of structures. The talks will cover different aspects of eigenvalue problems, from solution methods to practical applications.
The students who participate in the seminar can complete a small project on theoretical or computational aspects of eigenvalue problems (2-5 ECTS). Tutorials will be organized for the students once a month.
The first talk will be on Monday, September 19 at 14:15 in M2 (M233). Coffee will be served after the seminar.
