Get familiar with problem solving in operations research.
Two fairly large assignments on implementation and analysis of mathematical models. The assignments deal with control, optimization and stabilization of dynamic systems.
|Assessment methods and criteria|
Solving assignments and writing reports. The reports are evaluated with the scale 0 -> 5. The grade of the assignment is based on the first submitted version of the report. The grade of the course is based on the average of the assignments' grades.

MS-E2139 Nonlinear Programming, MS-E2148 Dynamic Optimization. Taking the course simultaneously with MS-E2129 System Identification is recommended.

There are no lectures held during the course, with the exception of the introductory lectures held for each assignment, in which the content and goals of the assignment and the methods utilized are introduced. The assignments are completed in pairs.
