Searching for Scientific Information
Welcome to start the course on Searching for Scientific Information.
The aim of the course is to acquaint you with the most important scientific information sources within your field, help you select and search efficiently both printed as well as electronic information and make you aware of the information evaluation methods. The course will be a compact period of five weeks and the course is divided into three parts.
We will organise the course twice a year (autumn & spring). The course will start with a lecture in English.
Start the course by going through the material. The course is divided into three parts and you are expected to pass these during the half term. In every part there is something to read and some exercises which you need to prepare. The last part involves an exercise where you are expected to search for literature on a topic of your own. The course tutor for the course is Ms. Kirsi Heino. She can be reached via e-mail: kirsi.heino(at)aalto.fi or by telephone 050 3161 009.
The course can be completed without physically visiting Learning Centre. But you are welcome to do so!
