the course, students will work in teams towards finding creative solutions to
real-life social and environmental challenges brought by partner organisations,
which can be e.g. companies, public organizations or NGO’s. The team members
are expected to work intensively together during the course and they will be regularly
meeting the representatives of the client organizations. There will also be tutorial sessions to guide
the groups during the projects. The class will come together for presenting the
project plans and project outcomes.
Students need to send a motivation letter of 1-2 pages describing their motivation to apply (both to the course in general and to the wished projects), expectations from the course, and their relevant study and work background. The purpose of the motivation letters is to ensure the course will have participants with a variety of backgrounds that are highly committed to working on the projects and learning from them.
The registration to the course in WebOodi is already open and will finish 7 days before our first meeting, but we recommend that you'll register and send your motivation letter to Armi (armi.temmes(at)aalto.fi) on Friday 22nd December at the latest. This allows us to inform you and the clients on the project teams before the first meeting.
The project descriptions have now been published on this home page in the section "Project descriptions". Please note that one project description (now Tampere) has been changed on 8th December. The subject area remains the same, but focus changed a little following the wish of the client. In your motivation letter please let us know your 1st and 2nd choice for a project. We cannot guarantee you the first choice but usually we have been able to allocate you to either your first or second choice. Tell us clearly about your motivation to join the chosen projects.
Looking forward to meeting you on 10th January, 2018
Armi, Mikko, Leena, Jarkko
