The exercise is designed for groups of 4 students. It is submitted in four assignments and one additional full submit.
Each returned report must include the name of the group, the names, student numbers, and email addresses of all the members of the group.
This year, groups will create one coherent design and document it in four assignments. Each assignment is submitted to course staff for commenting, but you will get grade only after all of the four exercises have been completed. This means that you can modify the already submitted exercise parts in order to respond to feedback, and return the modified assignment at the final submission.
Record the changes
In order for us to track the changes made to your design, it is imperative, that you keep a clear change log in the beginning of your documentation. This will also help both you in keeping up with the design, and us in noticing the improvements you've made after feedback sessions.
When your team improves the original submission, you must also highlight the improvements in text with clearly distinguishing font color in the final one.
Teams are required to review the work of one team for each assignment. For this, you must post your work by the assignment submission deadline to the forum under the corresponding assignment. After the assignment is posted, read the work posted by other peer team, write a feedback for them, reply it to the other group's initiated topic, and be prepared to discuss the feedback with your peer team during the assignment follow up workshop. To be able to discuss "face-to-face", teams need to assure at least one member is present at the follow up workshops. The review instructions can be found in the description of the review forum.
If we have odd number of teams, for each round, some teams will have to do two reviews each. If you notice, that there are multiple submissions posted (in addition to your own), review them both.
For the final submission in December, teams need to assess the quality of their own work. Use the same guidelines, as in peer reviews. Attach your self-review into the final submission as a separate PDF document, named appropriately.
Timeline and task structure of a single assignment
The picture below represents the tasks of single assignment span of two weeks. This image is bound to the dates of the RE assignment, but all of the group work assignments follow the same general pattern. After an assignment is published, teams have about 10 days to submit their design in the group exercise -page and to the peer review forum (found below the corresponding assignment, at the group exercise page). Then, before the same week's workshop, teams need to review and write feedback about the submissions of assigned submissions. Once teams have done the review(s), they need to post it/them to the review forums before the same week's follow up workshop. During the follow up workshops, teams discuss the reviews with review teams.
