Objective of the course
The course gives an overview on space environment, current trends in space technology, remote sensing instruments and applications. The following application topics will be covered: environmental disaster assessment from space, climate change monitoring, interplanetary exploration, deep space missions, cosmology and radio astronomy and space research in Finland. During the course several lecturers and professors from various space research and remote sensing areas give general lectures about their topic.

Lectures are compulsory. At least 5 lectures out of 7 should be participated. Every missing lecture should be compensated with a small essay (1-2 pages) on lecture topic. Lecture diary. During the course student teams prepare also their own presentation on interesting space related topic. Presentations are given during the last lecture.
There is no examination.
