About the assignment
The goal of the assignment is to stabilize and control a large-scale system. In the assignment, the steam production of a thermal power plant is stabilized with PID and state feedback controllers to meet the steam consumption needs of the power plant. The system is modeled using the MATLAB's Simulink modeling environment.
The deadline for the assignment is Friday 22.12.2017 at 17:00. If you need to have the course recorded in your study registry before the end of the year, then you must return the second assignment on Monday 11.12 at the latest.
At the start of the assistant's reception on 8.11., there will be an introduction to using SIMULINK.
At the start of the assistant's reception on 15.11., there will be an introduction to the theory of dynamic systems.
Instructions, MATLAB-files, and supplementary material
The assignment instructions are available in both Finnish and English. Two MATLAB-files are provided for the assignment. The thermal power plant has been modeled in the Simulink-model voima.mdl and the script param.m sets all necessary parameter values needed by the Simulink-model.
