The Aalto course CS-E3210 Machine Learning: Basic Principles (MLBP) is the ultimate entry point to the theory and practice of modern machine learning techniques.
The course is organized as six rounds which cover certain sections of the course book and a Python notebook. In order to complete a round, you have to fill out short questionnaires (quizzes) which revolve around the content of the course book and a Python notebook for each round. You will also learn how to combine the tools discussed in these rounds within a small data analysis project.
There is NO MANDATORY ATTENDANCE for lectures or exercise garages. We offer five exercise garages per week where TAs are present and answer your questions related to the rounds. You can also use these garages to meet other students and try to help each other. The lecture sessions will typically consist of talks related to the course content. The lectures will be recorded and made available online.
