    Welcome to Programming Parallel Computers, spring 2019 edition! This is a practical hands-on course on algorithm engineering for modern parallel computers. You will learn how to design programs that make the best possible use of the computing power of multicore CPUs and GPUs.

    All practical information on the course is available at http://ppc.cs.aalto.fi/2019/ and the course material is available at http://ppc.cs.aalto.fi/.

    Our first lecture is on Monday, 15 April, at 10am, in hall AS2 (TUAS building, note the new lecture hall!).

    Before the first lecture, please do the following:

    • Register for the course in Oodi if you have not done it yet
    • Join our Slack chat: http://ppc.cs.aalto.fi/2019/help/
    • Create a Github account if you don't have one yet: https://github.com/
    • Solve the prerequisite test: http://ppc.cs.aalto.fi/2019/test/

    Please note that you will need to complete the prerequisite test before you can start to solve assignments — the test opens on 8 April 2019, and closes on 19 April 2019, at noon.
