  • Learning sessions will be held on Thursdays at 12-16.
    Exercise sessions will be held on Fridays at 10-14 (see exception below). Each project group will get to reserve one hour from this time for their meeting with the course staff. Learning sessions will be held in room M203. Exercise sessions will be held in room U410a (26.4, 6.5, 10.5) and Y308 (20.5, 24.5).

    Spatial data management: spatial data and databases

     A visit to see an actual GIS application developed in a research project

     Exercise session: support session 1. 1h per project group to discuss what is the current situation of their work, what problems they have, and how those could be solved

    Spatial data management 2. How to add new data, manage existing data, and modify data; how to take into account web services in the data management.

    Spatial web services. How to publish the data you have on the web for users to browse.

    Finalizing a project. What to do to finish a software project, and how to deliver the project to the customer. Project report, why is it done, what it should contain, what is its purpose for the customer, and what is its purpose for the developer

    Retrospect: what is a GIS application development project. Project phases, project responsibilities, project planning, project development, project delivery, ending a project.

     Exercise session: final deadline. The project results will be handed over, including the final report. The resulting service is presented and assessed. 1 hour per group.
