At the end of the course, each student taking the 5cr version of the course prepares an individual assignment. After the individual assignment, the student is familiar with one innovation management perspective and is able to apply this in the analysis of a concrete design problem in the operations management context.
The assignment consists of two parts:
1) A summary and evaluation of one innovation management perspective discussed during the course, based on the lecture material and supplied readings. The perspectives were i) innovation process; ii) knowledge, learning and innovation; iii) organizing innovation; iv) strategic innovation management; v) systemic perspective to innovation.
2) Application of the innovation management perspective to the context and focal company of the student's design assignment: How should the company approach innovation and why?
