Topic outline

  • Co-development interventions in Business Networks is an advanced course in Knowledge and Business Networks, a track of the Information Networks Study Program. In addition, the course is suitable for all Master`s and Doctoral students of Industrial Engineering and Management.

The course focuses on inter-organizational business processes and their development through planned interventions. The course advances a knowledge-based view on interventions by focusing on collaboration practices as an object of development and knowledge co-creation as a way of developing them. The course presents different theoretical approaches to co-development as well as relevant development and research methods.

The course includes a project assignment in a real-life business ecosystem. Guided by the teachers, the student groups will facilitate co-creation workshops with the participating organizations. All case work will be carried out in the class room. Despite this, project assignment requires independent working by groups, e.g. preparation of workshops, between the lectures.

On this course, you will learn how to manage interventions into business ecosystems: how to analyze the structure and value flows, how to plan interventions and workshops, how to apply methods and tools for co-creation, as well as how to facilitate the co-creation of new solutions.
