This course teaches elementary programming using Python language. You will learn the basic programming concepts, and will learn to implement small programs using Python.
The course consists of 9 exercise rounds and a small individually implemented final programming project that will be demonstrated to the course staff. The course starts on Wednesday, September 11th, 12:15 at T2 in CS builiding.
The course material is online here, along with the programming assignments, that will be assessed automatically.
There are three weekly contact sessions: Tuesdays 14:15 - 16:00 (TU3, Maarintie 8), Wednesdays 12:15 - 14:00 (U344, Otakaari 1) and Thursdays 16:15 - 18:00 (Y344, Otakaari 1 -- note the room is indeed different than on Wednesday). There will be no lectures after the initial kick-off session.
Participation to the class room sessions is not mandatory, but they are a good opportunity to discuss about the course topics, and to get help with the exercises.
Slack group is the primary online communication channel for the course, and should be used for discussing problems in assignments, among other course related issues (please use the #autumn2019 channel for discussion). Course staff can also be reached by email at firstname.lastname@example.org . Discussions on exercises should be kept on Slack, though.
