Get familiar with problem solving in operations research. |
Content |
Two fairly large assignments on implementation and analysis of mathematical models. The assignments deal with control, optimization and stabilization of dynamic systems. |
Assessment methods and criteria |
Solving assignments and writing reports. The reports are evaluated with the scale 0 - 5. The reports are graded based on the first submitted version and the report is accepted when possible corrections are made. The grade of the course is based on the average grade of the assignments. |

Prerequisites |
MS-E2122 Nonlinear Optimization, MS-E2148 Dynamic Optimization. MS-E2129 System Identification is recommended. |

Reception hours |
Kai Virtanen: Wednesdays at 15:00-16:00 in Y212. Mikko Harju: Wednesdays at 14:15 - (16:00) in Y344. If nobody shows up during the first 30 minutes, the assistant may leave. |
Additional information |
There are no lectures held during the course, with the exception of the introductory lectures held for each assignment, in which the content and goals of the assignment and the methods utilized are introduced. The assignments are completed in pairs.
