ELIGIBILITY AND SELECTION CRITERIA
All Master's and PhD students from Aalto are eligible to apply. Through JOO-agreement also students from other Finnish universities can apply.
Selection is based on the motivation letter, and suitability of the applicant's field of study, experience and viewpoint to the project. Those with prerequisite courses or relevant similar background have priority. Teams of five will be formed with many various disciplines. In some cases we might interview the applicants. In that case the applicants will be contacted individually by email.
FIELD TRIP
Students will have to be able to travel during the course. In principle travel is at student's own cost. Some of the projects may have external funding. However, students are encouraged to apply travel grants and sponsors as part of their course assignments. Two week field trip is usually arranged in periods III or IV.
SCHEDULE
Periods III-V (Jan - May). Teaching times will vary during spring semester. Joint weekly meetings apply only in the beginning of the course (Jan) in period III. In periods IV and V there will be team meetings, joint mid-reviews and project clinics. Teams can schedule their work time freely outside the joint sessions. Each team will be supported by a faculty mentor throughout the course.
