NBE-E4530 Special Course in Human Neuroscience: Visual Neuroscience (Aalto University)
Vision is one of the most studied and best understood disciplines in neuroscience. This course aims to give an introduction to current research methods and knowledge in visual neuroscience. The lecturers are active researchers that use behavioral/psychophysical,
modelling, brain imaging and neurophysiological methods. Each gives one lecture on their own speciality topic (such as low-level processing, colour vision or cortical functional specification) with an emphasis on explaining research methods. The course
will give a comprehensive view of visual information processing at different levels and brain regions and how various research methods can be used to investigate visual information processing.
Teaching time: Fridays 14.15–16.00
Teaching period: 7.2.–3.4.2020 (no teaching: 21.2., 6.3.)

Assessment
Course completion requires participation in the seminar meetings, completion of quizzes on pre-reading materials, writing a learning diary and
preparing & preparing a minireport in small group giving a short (15 minute) presentation in small group in the last contact teaching session. Grades 0-5 on the basis of quiz answers and the minireport presentation.
