General
This is a home page for a course on harmonic analysis.
Topics
- Hardy-Littlewood maximal function
- Calderon-Zygmund decomposition
- Functions of bounded mean oscillation (BMO)
- Marcinkiewicz interpolation theorem
- Muckenhoupt weights
- Singular integrals of Calderon-Zygmund type
The learning objective of the course is to get to know modern methods in harmonic analysis. The are many challenging research topics for master's and doctoral theses. Prerequisites: Participants are expected to take MS-E1281 Measure and integral before attending this course. MS-E1281 Real analysis is also recommended.
Course practices: This is interactive distance learning course and it consists meetings with the instructor, homework assignments and group meetings. The course will be run online and the meetings will be held in Zoom. Links to the meetings will be send to the participants through MyCourses. Participants are expected to study the course material and solve the homework assignment according to the schedule. There is a possibility to discuss the course material and homework assignments in the online meetings.
