Welcome to Aalto Fablab!
This course is needed for you to be able to access and work independently at the Aalto Fablab in Otakaari 7. This section contains an overview of the course and general information about the Aalto Fablab. Please check the 360 Tour that you can access via the activity and resource part at the bottom of this page.

You need to complete the following modules to get a permission to work independently at the Aalto Fablab.
- [RM] Overview.
- [RM] General Safety.
- One or more [OM] ... modules.
Independent work with the machines is possible during lab opening times with prior booking. You can find more information about opening times and booking below. You need to complete module specific to the machine you will be using. Contact workshop master if you have questions.
We offer the global Fab Academy (https://fabacademy.org) course as an academic overlay designed as a set of 4 courses. The Digital Fabrication I, II and III overlap the Fab Academy from mid-January to late-June. Digital
Fabrication Studio is used for final project development. Please check the individual course pages for more information.
You are welcome to use the Fablab for other courses. Students who already have fab skills can use the equipment to work on assignments connected to any other course.
Due to COVID-19 Fablab is available for booking if your project is related to thesis, Fab Academy or experimental research. Available times are Mon - Fri from 9:00 - 16:00. There are two booking slots.
- Morning: 09:00 - 12:30
- Afternoon: 12:30 - 16:00
Contact us via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) to book. Please try to do it at least TWO DAYS BEFORE your visit. Make sure that you follow safety instructions at the space and maintain premium hand hygiene.
