Welcome to our workshop with Gerry D´Anza as special guest and expert for
Structures and Architecture: Parametric Engineering 2021.Special guest Architect Gerry D'Anza, who
- holds a degree in Architecture from Federico II Naples, and did his PhD thesis on tensile form-finding methods and applications
- is involved in research on membranes and tensile structures, implementing both software and working as a designer
- does international projects and teaching
- developed together with Prof. Bletzinger and J.Linhard, Rhino-Membrane a form-finding plugin for Rhinoceros, Forten platform and from 2014 ixCube 4-10 a platform for design, structural analysis and production of cable-membrane systems
- developed a fully parametric workflow, by implementing the software into the Grasshopper environment
For successful participation, you
1. install the necessary software on your laptop and prepare for the course by tutorials. We will offer 3 timeslots to support these activities. The participation is on voluntary basis, but we recommend unexperienced users to use this offer. One of the timeslots is also used to provide the necessary licenses.
