    The resources for the 4th week (calendar week 40) of the course

    During the fourth week we went deeper into the technology and studied memory implementation. For modern systems,  implementing the virtual memory is complex. Much of the complexity is caused by performance considerations.

    During the lecture session on Monday (2020-09-28) we studied implementing virtual memory with a focus on the structures needed in the implementation.

    • There was some prepared presentations, but also time to asks questions and get answers.
    • The related slides are in the section Materials

    The course exercise sessions continued also on Monday (2020-09-28). The 3rd exercises session concentrated on the 3rd exercise round, which addresses memory with a focus on paging and hardware acceleration mechanisms.

    • The week is a good time to do the third round of the exercises.
    • Remember the course discussion forum, if you cannot make the exercise session.
