Topic outline

  • Timothy Persons will present the history of the Helsinki School, how it has changed over a 25 year period and how it remains relevant today.

    Content/outcome:
Each student will be expected to present one project, preferably their most recent project or a work in progress, combined with a project statement. Each student musttherefore have written a rough draft of this statement prior to the beginning of the course, if they do not have one already. Throughout the week, the students will take part in a series of tasks, based on John Baldessari’s open studio assignments, that involve re-writing and re-inventing their statement in order to think about their work in a moreconceptual way. The course is aimed at improving how each student thinks, presents and talks about their own work.

    Pre-course task:
On Monday 14.12.20 - students must be prepared to present one of their projects and read aloud the accompanying project statement.
