     Introduction to the basics of electrical machine design which include, The Electromagnetic, Thermal, Mechanical designs of electrical machines.

     Students will have the opportunity to design a small transformer, and perform a numerical FEM simulations for different operating condition with Comsol Multiphysics.

    Assessment Methods and Criteria

     No exam.

      Mandatory assignments and simulation exercise.

     The course is graded based on three individual assignment reports,     Analytical design of transformer and simulation exercise.

     The analytical design and simulations are carried out in a group of two students.

     3 assignments (1/3rd of grade), Simulation exercise and final report of transformer (2/3rd of grade).
