    In this course, you will learn how fashion is communicated and how fashion communicates. 

    The course is divided into different themes, which will shed light on the key aspects of fashion communication. The course comprises six online sessions and independent work.

     

    Course deliverables

    To pass the course, you will do three kinds of assignments:

    1. Attend online lectures

    2. Read articles and do assignments for classes

    3. Use the assignments done for individual classes to make a plan for communicating sustainability, diversity, equity and inclusion of a fashion brand. Deliver the plan on MyCourses folder "Final assignment" by 7 June at 23.59. Late deliveries are not accepted.


    FORMAT OF THE COURSE AND EACH CLASS

    The course is taught online. You will join the lectures every week through Zoom. Please find the Zoom-link at the bottom of this page. 

    The course consists of five lecture/seminars, one live meeting and independent work (reading and doing assignments).


    GRADING CRITERIA

    Assessment is based on a criterion-referenced scale of 1–5.

    The following summary presents the criteria that apply to different grades. The grading criteria are designed so that requirements included to achieve the lowest approved grade, the grade of 1, also applies to higher grades (5-2).

    5 → An excellent ability to synthesise conclusions that show an understanding of how different theoretical and conceptual approaches are related to each other, and how these affect the outcome of the analysis. An excellent ability to independently and holistically problematise theoretical and conceptual aspects in the field of fashion communication.

    4 → Good ability to draw conclusions showing an understanding of how different theoretical and conceptual approaches are related to each other, and how these affect the outcome of the analyses. Ability to critically reflect on how the choices of theoretical and conceptual choices affect the outcome of the study of fashion communication.

    3 → Good knowledge of concepts and theories of fashion communication. Ability to use these concepts and theories to describe, analyse, and explain fashion communication.

    2 → Good knowledge of concepts and theories in fashion communication. Rudimentary ability to use these concepts and theories to describe and analyse fashion communication.

    1 → Knowledge of theories and concepts of fashion communication. Rudimentary ability to use the concepts and theories to describe fashion communication.

    F → Insufficient: No relevant knowledge. Handed in a defective final project or one that cannot be assessed. Supplementary work is not accepted.
