Topic outline

  • ‘Simulated Spaces: Online Curating Across Disciplines’ focuses on the practice of co-creating online spaces for those interested in visual and sonic research, web design, exhibition development, digitalised archives, open-source software and browser-based interfaces for research.

The course aims to give you an insight into the processes and methods of online curating across different disciplines by introducing case studies and practical tools to curate the web. Participants will design their own curated space online, built and published using open-source software for online exhibitions.

Throughout the course, we will address the approach of online curating through multi-disciplinary group work, lectures, case studies, group exercises, close readings, guest speakers and a final project which will be a website based, online curated project.

This course falls under the thematic of actions.
