Feedback on your feedback ('vastapalaute')
Thank you for the feedback you provided through official Course Feedback as well as through Feedback box!
Below you can find the report from your Course Feedback as well as the part of the Peer & Self Assessment where you shared your views generally on your group and its work. We also send you by email the anonymous personal feedback from Peer & Self Assessment: do read it carefully as well.
It was great to read your feedback, and learn that you generally found the course and its teaching methods useful (see also figures below). The respondents also indicated that the course work load is at the right level, and that you generally think that you will benefit from the things learnt during the course.
Your written feedback showed that you appreciated particularly the interactive teaching methods, and the generally well-structured course that used variety of different learning methods. Also the group-based case study work as well as guest lecturers (with their real-life experience and examples) were found useful.
This all is naturally really good to hear, and encourages us to continue with this kind of course structure.
There are, however, also things that require attention and possible changes. The most obvious challenge for the course was that it had to ultimately be organised fully online. While you generally felt that the online arrangements worked smoothly, it is clear that particularly this kind of course building on active learning and group work would benefit from meeting in person. Or as some of the respondents wrote: "it [online learning] was ok. But in person is always a million times better" and "Campus is of course more preferable :)".
On the other hand you also felt that the online tools (particularly Miro) helped interaction and also documentation and structuring of your discussion: some groups also used Miro while planning and brainstorming their case study work.
You also provided very nice and useful feedback regarding your group work (i.e. case study and reading circles) as part of your Peer & Self Assessment (see the pdf on this page). It is clear that a majority of the group worked really well, although naturally different ways of working did bring also challenges: this is natural, and tackling them is one important part of your learning during this course and entire WAT Master's Programme.
Some of you also noted that the groups with 6 people were bit too large: we agree, although the group sizes are naturally also dependent on the amount of students in the course (that typically changes during the first week even). Two possible ways to develop the course further would be to i) have less case studies but with 2 groups studying independently the same topic (which would ultimately also allow comparison on the case), and ii) having the reading circles in different groups than the case studies. We are considering to implement these both changes for the next year course - so all comments on these are naturally welcome! :)
Thank you once again for your feedback - and participation in the course.
