Activity and Exercise points, status April 4 File PDF document PDF

      Explanation of columns:

      • Act = Activity points from lectures (11), max 22. NOTE: 2-3 extra points are available from Slack and Course Feedback
      • AP10 = Activity points scaled to 0..10
      • 00-intro etc = Points from home assignments (9). NOTE: 15 points still available for the last one (Forum), 4 points for 03-pos-tagging (current max only 19) and 3 points for 04-vsms (current max only 18). So, totally max 22 points still coming.
      • Home = Total home assignment points, max 156 points. NOTE: Forum and manually graded sections included in 156, without it max 134
      • HP50 = Home assignment points scaled to 0..50
      • AHP60 = AP10 + HP50, max 60
      • E30 = If you take the exam (max 30 exam points), the amount of exam points needed before you start improving your P60 points. This is the effect of the 40 points cap, i.e. E30 = 30 * (P60 - 40) / (60 - 40). NOTE: The remaining home assignment and extra activities may still increase your points.
      • Remember that only 60% of the final grade comes from P60,  the project is worth 40%.

      Explanation of columns:

      • Act = Activity points from lectures (11), max 25. NOTE: now including the Exam survey and Slack. Answering to the Course Feedback gave a bonus point.
      • AP2 = Activity points scaled to 0..10 (with the bonus point this can be even higher)
      • 00-intro etc = Points from home assignments (9). NOTE: 4 points still available for 03-pos-tagging (current max only 19) and 3 points for 04-vsms (current max only 18). So, totally max 7 points still coming.
      • Home = Total home assignment points, max 156 points. NOTE: The manually graded sections included in 156, without it max 149.
      • HP = Home assignment points scaled to 0..50
      • AHP = AP10 + HP50, max 60
      • E20 = The exam (max 30 exam points) scaled to 0..20
      • AHEP = max (AHP, AHP (with the cap 40) + E20)
      • NOTE: The remaining home assignment and extra activities may still increase your points.
      • AHEG = The unrounded grade from Activities, Home exercises and Exam. AHEG = (AHEP - 20) / (0.93*60 - 20) *5
      • Remember that only 60% of the Final grade comes from AHEG,  the project is worth 40%.

      • The Final Grade is rounded from the Final Score.
      • The Final Score is a weighted average of the TotScore (aka AHEG) and Group project Grade (GG). FinScore = 0.6*TotScore + 0.4*GG.
      • The Total Score was computed by formula:  TotScore = AHEG = (AHEP - 20) / (0.93*60-20) *5. Thus 21 points (out of 60) was required to get a non-zero score. A negative score was rounded to zero.
      • To compute the activity and home exercise points compensated by exam points (AHEP), the activity points (AP2) were first scaled to 0..10 and home exercise points (HP) were scaled to 0..50 points (AH60). Max 20 points could be there substituted by exam points scaled to 0..20 (E20). This is done by capping AHP to 40 and then adding E20.
      • Feedback of the final project report have been provided on MyCourses.
