  • About the assignment

    The goal of the assignment is to stabilize and control a large-scale system. In the assignment, the steam production of a thermal power plant is stabilized with PID and state feedback controllers to meet the steam consumption needs of the power plant. The system is modeled using the MATLAB's Simulink modeling environment.

    - The deadline for the assignment is Friday 9.12.2022 at 18:00.

    - A voluntary introduction to dynamic systems is held on Monday 31.10.2022 at 14:15 in M203.

    - A voluntary introduction to SIMULINK is held on Wednesday 2.11.2022 at 14:15 in Y344.

    Reception in classroom Y344

    The course assistant has weekly receptions in classroom Y344 every Wednesday at 14:15 starting on 2.11.2022. Note that the reception on 2.11. starts after the Simulink intoduction is concluded.

    Instructions, MATLAB-files, and supplementary material

    The assignment instructions are available in English. Two MATLAB-files are provided for the assignment. The thermal power plant has been modeled in the Simulink-model voima.slx and the script param.m sets all necessary parameter values needed by the Simulink-model. There is also a package of supplemental material available.
