  • Lab experiments

    Except for experiment 1 which can be done remotely, all experiments will take place in the Micronova building (Tietotie 3, same building where the introduction session was held).

    The building is closed after 3:45pm, if you have to come after that time, the teaching assistants will come pick you up at the entrance (try not to be late).

    Please read the instruction document for each experiment before coming to the lab session.

      Experiment 1: Quantum Measurement with QISKIT Folder

      This experiment will be done in-person.

      Preliminary actions:

      • Please watch these videos before you begin the lab assignment.
        Qiskit tutorial (episodes 2, 3, 4, and 8 in particular)
      • Create an account on IBMQ (go to the link: https://quantum-computing.ibm.com/, use your aalto email preferably) and add it to the "IBMQ account email" list.
      • After creating your account, open IBM Quantum Lab jupyter console by selecting `Launch Lab` from IBM Quantum dashboard. Upload 'IBMQ_account_verification.ipynb' to the lab and follow the notebook guidelines.
      • Upload "Exp1_QuantumMeasurement.ipynb" and "calibration_circuits.py" to the IBM Quantum Lab as well. This is where you will run and execute the experiment.

      Experiment 2: Noise Measurements Folder

      The experiment is located at Micronova (Tietotie 3). Please arrive in time and sign up at the reception. Mention that you are coming as a guest for Aalto University, and your host is Timm Mörstedt. Please wait at the lobby, You will then be guided to the lab facilities.

      Please bring your own USB-stick for data transfer.

      Experiment 3: Dual path interference Folder

      The experiment is located at Micronova (tietotie 3). Please arrive in time and sign up at the reception. Mention that you are coming as a guest for Aalto University, and your host is Lassi Hällström. You will not be able to get past the lobby without a host or your own key to the building, so please don't be late.
