    Throughout the lectures: thematic takes on driving forces that have influenced or determined planning: political power, ideologies, societal and economic phenomena, infrastructure, technology, hazards, greed, passion...


    Essay instructions

    Pick a city (+ 500 years old, outside of Finland at least for the Finnish students).

    Find relevant literature and choose some promising entries for closer reading.

    Elaborate on how the phenomena / driving forces we’ve discussed show in the city you picked.

    Write 4 pages (font 12, spacing of rows 1,5,).

    Add possible images and all mentioned references. They do not count into the 4 pages of text!
