  • Virtual laboratory and exam

    • Step 1: Virtual laboratory

      Please study all learning materials that are available in the virtual laboratory at https://lab.aalto.fi/safety/en/360/ and then proceed to the exam below.

      Video Guide: We also have a Video Guide that introduces the virtual laboratory (takes about three minutes).

      Virtual laboratory does not have Save option. Make sure you have enough time to complete the whole tour in one sitting.

      If you encounter technical issues with the virtual laboratory, please try first using a different web browser. If the problems persist, you can ask for help by sending email to aaltolab@aalto.fi (in English or in Finnish).


      Step 2: Exam

      To complete the course, you need to get pass the exam below.

      There is also a version of the virtual laboratory, where all activities and rooms are immediately available (in the bottom menu). This version can be helpful if you have already studied the learning materials, and come back to the exam later.

      After you have studied the learning materials in the virtual laboratory, please take this exam. You may keep the virtual laboratory open while you take the exam. There is no time limit in the exam and you may take breaks during the exam.

      1) You need to answer all questions in the exam. Click "Check" after each question to get immediate feedback on your answer. Incorrect answers may lead in minus points.

      2) The exam will be graded automatically after you have finished it. Passing the exam requires at least 65% of the total points. 

      3) You may re-take the exam as many times as you like. Every attempt will have a different set of questions.

      4) After you have passed the exam, the course credits will be transferred to the study register of your own university. This may take several weeks.


    • Why cannot I see the exam?

      You will only see the laboratory safety exam when you are logged into MyCourses with your Aalto account.

      Please remember to activate your Aalto account so that you can do the exam and complete the course. You can activate your account at https://salasana.aalto.fi/. After activation if may still take several hours before your account becomes active in MyCourses and the exam becomes available.
