    Reverse Engineering Malware

    The topic of the spring 2016 course is Reverse Engineering Malware, and it is worth 5 credits. The course will be lectured in English by visiting security researchers from F-Secure Corporation.

    The course teaches students what malicious code is and how it can and analyzed. We will cover reverse engineering of executable code on different platforms such as Windows and Android.

    Course workload (weekly): 2 hours lectures and 4-6 hours for homework/exercises
    Course prerequisites:
    Understanding of networking (e.g. T-110.4100 Computer Networks), data
    structures (e.g. T-106.1220 Data Structures and Algorithms), windows or
    other OS internals (e.g., T-106.4155 Operating Systems),
    Computer architecture (e.g. S-87.3190 Computer Architecture) and C or Assembly programming skills
