The course is built on continuous learning, and the key part of this is our weekly exercise. The exercise sheets are typically published on previous Wednesday, and part of the exercise problems are introduced at the lecture. To get maximum benefit from the exercise session, it is important that you have studied the content of previous lectures and excercises and started doing the exercises on your own or with your co-students.
After the exercise sessions, you will finish the solutions on your own (or with co-students) and return the answers to the course staff in a couple of days. We encourage you to collaborate, but your solution must be your own reasoning --- everybody returns his own solution. The assistant will grade and comment your solutions and hand them back in a couple of days. Your next task is to check the comments before you've forgotten the problems; you can then ask the assistant for further advice. After the grading, there will also be short instructions for solving the problem, if you didn't make it.
On this page, we provide the exercise sheets, essay tasks, and possible auxiliary material related to the exercises.
Deadline to return your exercise solutions: Thursday at 4pm (the week of the exercise session)
Return address: a box next to the room F209, Rakentajanaukio 2
Help hour of the teaching assistant (Jaakko): on Wednesdays at 2-3pm at F263, Rakentajanaukio 2
Graded papers will be returned to you typically on Monday at the next exercise session (if you're not there, you'll find your paper in the return box).
