Upon completion of the course, students are able to:

  • Identify costume design perspectives, methods and approaches introduced by guest(s) from different cultures and artistic fields.
  • Recognise costume as an expressive art form.
  • Explore different ways of working with costume as a designer.

CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content

    The course enhances the exploration of the art of costume design. Visiting professors, artists or designers present their working methods and stimulate the students to experiment with different ways of working as a designer.

Assessment Methods and Criteria

    Students' development during the course, motivation, independent and group work outcomes, attendance and active participation in discussions.

Workload
  • valid for whole curriculum period:

    Lectures, discussions and presentations 32 hours, independent and group work 49 hours of the workload.

    Attending the first day of the course is required.

    At least 80% participation in contact teaching is mandatory to complete the course. If, due to absences, the student does not achieve the learning outcomes defined in the course description, the remaining 20% may have to be compensated as determined by the responsible teachers of the course. All absences must be reported to the teachers in charge. The responsible teachers of the course will specify the necessary compensating assignments.
