    Content:

    This is a reading course based on topics from Atiyah and Macdonald "Introduction to Commutative Algebra". It is possible to do this course as a 5- or 10-credit reading course, depending whether one covers 6 or 12 weeks worth of material. The course lasts during IV and V period of 2020/2021 academic year.

    Homework:

    There will be 6 homework sets for the 5-credit course and 12 homework sets for the 10-credit course. The homework is submitted in MyCourses. The deadline for homework submission is on Wednesdays (first week homework deadline is Sunday).

    Exam:

    There will be an oral exam at the end the course. 

    Grade:

    The homework will be 60% of the grade and the oral exam will be 40% of the grade. However, one needs to get at least 50% of the points of the exam to pass the course.

    Communication:

    The communication for this course takes place in Zulip https://ca2021.zulip.cs.aalto.fi. Anyone with an Aalto account can join the Zulip channel. The weekly reading material and homework is also posted on Zulip.
