Thesis Seminar (MUO-E0018) is a mandatory course for all Master’s students. There is no remote path, but the course is arranged twice a year.

The student start their thesis path by registering for this course, which will support their work throughout their thesis process.

During the first sessions of the Thesis Seminar, students familiarise themselves with thesis guidelines and different types of theses, define their thesis topic, find a supervisor and advisor, and prepare their Thesis Proposal. Students work and complete Part 1 and Part 2 by following the schedule of the path they have registered in. The course ends with a Part 3 presentation before the student submits their final thesis.

The course is organized twice a year: during periods I-V and during periods III-V.  The course activities are organized partly jointly by the Department of Design and partly by the programs/majors to support their students’ specific thesis contents.

Course sessions:

  • Session 1: Thesis Basics (joint)
  • Session 2: Thesis Topic (in programs/majors)
  • Session 3: Getting Thesis Done (joint)
  • Session 4: Thesis Proposal presentations (in programs/majors)
  • Session 5: Finalizing the Thesis (joint)
  • Session 6: Thesis Part 3 Presentations (in programs/majors)
