LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon completion of the course, students are able to:

  • Understanding diverse factors, variables, and aspects influencing the ecological sustainability of stage productions.
  • Apply this contextual knowledge to their work in the course and make observations about the working conditions and related processes.
  • Apply and integrate sustainability knowledge skills into their artistic work.

CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content

    The course addresses global aspects of sustainability, especially ecological sustainability and responsibility in the context of performing arts, performance design (costume design, lighting design, scenography and sound design) studies, designer’s artistic work and working conditions in the field. The course will explore ecological practice in performance design: sustainability discourse, research, case examples, materiality, interconnectedness and calculative principles through introductions, lectures, discussions and workshops. The course will include experiments and artistic approaches. The final content and output of the course will be specified at a later stage.
